Ultimate Technology Launches The New 2200 Series POS System
ROCHESTER, N.Y., January 10, 2006 - Ultimate Technology Corporation, a leading provider of open system point-of-service (POS) hardware solutions and services, announced today the general availability of its new 2200 Series POS System. The 2200 Series is a family of POS hardware solutions providing retailers with reliable POS functionality, high performance and flexibility in system configuration. The product will be featured at the National Retailer Federation (NRF) Trade Show at Ultimate Technology’s booth #337. The event runs from January 16 –17, 2006 at the Javits Center, New York City.
The 2200 Series includes a POS logic module and a number of best of breed POS peripherals. Designed to reduce retailers’ total cost for POS, the logic module has a durable metal casing that protects high quality, long life, and POS specific electronics for extended product life. The solution utilizes Intel embedded chip sets that provide stable version control, reducing the need for continuous modification and re-certification of POS application software. Quick access to input/output ports and support for industry standard OPOS and JavaPOS device drivers minimizes system integration, configuration and service costs. The 2200 Series preserves retailers’ hardware investment by providing 3 PCI slots ensuring flexibility for future system configuration upgrades and add-ons.
“Retailers are demanding hardware solutions that maximize the value of their POS system investment.” says Patrick Barr, Product Manager for Ultimate Technology. “The 2200 Series provides retailers with a full POS solution that reduces retailers’ ongoing operating and maintenance costs while delivering high performance, configuration stability and flexibility.” The 2200 Series will begin shipping to customers this month.
