Ultimate Technology Expands Successful 2800 Series POS System with 2870 Launch

Rochester, NY – May 19, 2006 - Ultimate Technology a leading provider of open system point-of-service (POS) hardware solutions and services, announced today the launch of their new 2870 Series POS System. The 2870 System will bring a new level of system performance to the successful 2800 Series Integrated POS platform launched by Ultimate Technology in 2003. Ultimate Technology will be displaying the 2870 POS System in Booth #1116 during Retail Systems 2006 Expo, May 22-24, McCormick Place, Chicago. General product availability is scheduled for the third quarter of 2006.

The 2870 Series will utilize embedded technology including the Intel® 915GV Express Chipset and an Intel® Pentium® 4 processor (3.4 GHz) with Hyper-Threading Technology (HT Technology). HT Technology enables more efficient use of processor resources, higher processing throughput (800 MHz FSB) and improved performance. The combination of an Intel® processor and chipset that support HT Technology delivers unmatched performance and responsiveness including superior graphics with outstanding memory performance and high-speed I/O.

The 2870 Series will also come standard with a reliable 80GB hard drive which allows for expanded in-store data storage. Additional options include a dual hard drive that allows for convenient data backup, a DVD drive ideal for training or other multi-media needs at the POS register and an available PCI Express* slot which provides high-bandwidth support for the latest wireless technologies. Input /output options have also been expanded to include up to 6 Serial ports and 6 USB ports. The 2870 is also designed with new LCD technology that provides a bright, clear screen and accurate touch screen capabilities.
