Ultimate Technology Introduces All-In-One POS Workstation with Intel® Pentium® M Technology

Rochester, May 22, 2006 Ultimate Technology a leading provider of open system point-of-service (POS) hardware solutions and services, announced today the launch of the latest version of their successful 1800 Series POS Solution. The new UltimaTouch 1850 POS Touch Workstation will incorporate Intel Pentium M technology to increase the performance level of the all-in-one touch workstation. The high performance UltimaTouch 1850 expands Ultimate Technologys offering to the specialty retail, convenience store and hospitality markets. Ultimate Technology will be displaying the 1850 POS System in Booth #1116 during Retail Systems 2006 Expo, May 22-24, McCormick Place, Chicago. The product is scheduled to be available in the third quarter of 2006.

Ultimate Technology is excited to be introducing the high performance UltimaTouch 1850, stated Patrick Barr, Product Manager. POS application software is becoming more complex due to retailers demands for more functionality at the point of sale. The UltimaTouch 1850 with Pentium M technology delivers breakthrough performance at lower power consumption. This results in less heat being generated increasing the product reliability. The combination of increased processing power and more efficient power consumption makes it an excellent choice for demanding POS solutions.

In addition to the Pentium M technology, the UltimaTouch 1850 is enhanced with increased Front Side Bus speed (400 MHz) and standard system memory of 512 MB. This combination of upgrades to the all-in-one workstation provides retailers with faster customer transactions and the ability to handle additional system functionality at the POS workstation such as real time inventory information, customer service, and product return information.

The new UltimaTouch 1850 utilizes the same hinged chassis design as the 1800 series of products allowing quick access to key internal components for serviceability and maintenance. Extensive input/output ports include up to 4 serial and 8 USB connections as well as a LAN and 24V cash drawer port. A number of optional features such as an internal CD or DVD ROM, a 3-track MSR, integrated speakers and an integrated customer display provide retailers with flexibility to match the system to their specific POS needs.
