Reeds Jewelers Selects Ultimate Technology's Lifecycle Management Solutions for their POS Upgrade

Rochester, N.Y., January 9, 2007- Ultimate Technology, a leading provider of open system point of sale (POS) hardware solutions and services, announced today that they have been selected by Reeds Jewelers, Inc., an 89 store specialty retail chain based in Wilmington, NC, as their retail solutions partner for their POS upgrade project . The POS solution will feature Ultimate Technology�s lifecycle management expertise.

Ultimate Technology will manage the staging, integration, project management, installation, de-installation and disposal of legacy equipment. UTC will also provide on-going hardware maintenance including on-site services during Reeds� peak holiday period. Reeds will deploy Ultimate Technology�s 2845 Series integrated POS hardware solution running Microsoft�s Retail Management System (RMS) Store Operations POS application. The chain wide project is slated for installation during the third quarter of 2006.

During preliminary discussions to define the requirements of the project, the need to improve register log in and security was identified as an important objective for Reeds. To address this need, Ultimate Technology will adapt their hardware solution to integrate with biometric fingerprint recognition technology to enhance Reeds� register access and provide an improved time and attendance process.
